REQUIREMENT: YOUR VIDEO MUST ANSWER FOUR QUESTIONS IN FOUR MINUTES AND TAKE A CRITICAL LOOK AT THE COMPANY
- What does the company do?
- What three aspects make it successful?
- What are three risks for the company?
- What three recommendations could ensure the success of the company or make it more successful?
Tip: Look at how the company is addressing current megatrends like sustainability, digitalization, or globalization.
Where can you find the information you need about the company? Use sources of free information, such as the company’s website or those of its competitors, press articles, the company’s annual report, or independent studies. Don’t be afraid to be critical!
Do you have any more questions? Registering early pays off: We will offer online Q&A sessions with the companies in April and May during which you can get all your questions answered. Register before the end of March to participate.

REQUIREMENTS
You have to be between 14 and 20 years old and attend a school of any form. The finalists from Europe will be invited to the award ceremony; we will cover all expenses. Everyone who submits a complete video before the deadline will receive a certificate of participation.
You don't live in Europe?
You don’t live in Europe? You can win attractive prizes, too! Students who attend school outside of Europe are also allowed to analyze a company of their choice in addition to the four pre-selected companies.
ON YOUR OWN OR AS A TEAM
You can either produce your own video or work together as a team of up to six students. Your friends don’t need to attend the same school as you, as long as you are all students between 14 and 20 years of age. If you participate as a team, one of you will have to register as the team spokesperson and invite all other team members to participate—be sure to coordinate among yourselves and confirm the invitation from your team spokesperson.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR VIDEO
You can submit your video between January 1 and October 1 in your profile once you have registered. The video can only be uploaded through the platform.
WHAT TO OBSERVE WHEN CREATING YOUR VIDEO
- You must answer all four questions.
- You must produce the video yourself.
- Conduct careful research, use a variety of sources, and don’t be afraid to stand by your opinion.
- Constructive criticism is welcome!
- Your video should not contain advertisements.
- If you use music, make sure it’s public-domain and can be used free of charge. CC Search is a good search engine for public-domain music, images, and videos.
- Data protection, copyrights, and personal rights must be observed (e.g., when using photographs and names). Check the FAQs for more information.

A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN FILMING YOUR VIDEO
If you are filming on private property or in a building, you will need the owner’s consent. If you want to film on-site at one of the b@s videochallenge companies, you will also need to be sure to get their permission to do so beforehand. You can download a simple filming permit template here:
Download: Filming permit for private property or buildings(109.94 KB)When filming or photographing people, you will need to observe their personal rights. You will need the subject’s permission both for filming them and for publishing their photograph. The safest way is to get a written declaration of consent from the individual (and a parent or guardian’s consent for minors). We have a template for that, too:
